Meet Our Experienced Team
Our current legal team consists of nine attorneys: James G. Bethard, Robert E. Bethard, Jordan N. George Young, Adam L. Massery, Kambrie Bethard Hays, and Joseph W. Hays.
We are a small firm which means your lawyer does all of the work for you and knows your issues and concerns inside and out. This means the lawyer that is representing you in court, or in a closing, or speaking with you on the telephone is often not the same person who has spent the time learning and familiarizing themselves with all aspects of your issues and situations, and not the same person preforming all of the in depth research. At Bethard & Bethard, LLC, your lawyer will do all of the legal research. Your lawyer will prepare all of your pleadings. Your lawyer will know everything about your property, and/or whatever issues you may have. As a result, the lawyers at Bethard & Bethard, LLC are almost always the most prepared lawyers in the court room, at the closing, or at the negotiating table.
James “Jim” Bethard

Jim went to LSU undergraduate and LSU Law School. He graduated in 1976 and joined the family law firm in Coushatta. He is presently Of Counsel and does not accept new clients.
The focus of his practice has primarily been dealing with land, minerals, estate planning, business formation, banking, transactions and mentoring younger lawyers in the firm.
He served on the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board and during most of that time he served as a hearing officer in attorney disciplinary matters.
In addition to having a busy law practice, Jim has an entrepreneurial spirit. Over the decades he started or had ownership in businesses including media, banking and timberland companies.
Jim is a pilot and also enjoys snow skiing and sailing in the Caribbean.
He is exceptionally proud of the direction Bethard & Bethard has taken – its reputation, work ethic and especially the entire workforce that now makes up Bethard & Bethard.

Robert Bethard
Of Counsel
Coushatta Office
Robert earned his bachelor’s degree at Louisiana State University. He then attended Southern University Law Center where he earned his law degree in 1982.
Robert is Of Counsel, and he is no longer accepting any new clients. Robert’s primary duties are assisting other attorneys in the firm in advisory role.
Robert has had the pleasure
Robert’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, and snow skiing. He also enjoys spending time with his four daughters and their families.
Robert had the honor of learning from his father who was an attorney for over sixty years. His father helped to strengthen the skills that have allowed him to serve his community for forty-one years. Robert is very appreciative of his loyal clients that have trusted him to handle their business.

Jordan Young
Partner

Jordan graduated from Northwestern State University and earned her degree in Business Administration. She then attended Southern University Law Center where she graduated in 2014.
Her areas of practice include Louisiana successions, probates, estate planning, business estate planning, wills, trusts, donations, business formation, and competency matters.
Jordan was notably the first person to graduate from her high school and become an attorney. She has over a decade of hard work and experience. Jordan has been with Bethard & Bethard since 2021.
Jordan primarily focuses her practice on successions, probates, interdictions, estate planning, and business formation.
In her spare time, she likes to travel, read, do puzzles of any sort, and spend time with her family and friends.
Jordan’s favorite part about being an attorney is learning something new every day about people. No two clients or cases are ever the same. She likes listening to people to learn about their unique circumstances, so she can determine the best plan of action to help them and their families through sometimes difficult situations.

Adam Massery

Adam graduated from Louisiana State University and earned his degree in Political Science. He then attended Southern University Law Center where he earned his law degree in 2021.
Adam joined the Bethard & Bethard team in 2022. He handles complex property issues and civil litigation.
During law school, Adam enjoyed debating and was a member of the Moot Court Board. He also enjoyed playing tennis and golf during his limited spare time. Adam still enjoys tennis and golf, but also finds woodworking, spending time with his family and friends, and being in the great outdoors equally as relaxing.
His favorite thing about being an attorney is being able to provide genuine value to his clients. He prides himself on ensuring that his clients get the highest quality work and the best outcome possible for all his litigated matters.

Kambrie Bethard Hays

Kambrie Bethard Hays graduated college from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette earning her degree in Bachelor of General Studies. She then attended Loyola University New Orleans where she earned her law degree in 2023.

Outside of the Office:
Kambrie Bethard Hays is married to Joseph Hays. Together Joseph and Kambrie have a beautiful baby girl. On the weekends Kambrie enjoys spending every second with her daughter, soaking up the outdoors by playing with her two dogs and going for long walks.
